27. the redesign and rescue

Built in the 1940s, this house had stood empty for over a decade. In fact, when we were blessed with the opportunity to rescue the house, we were told that the original owners were the only family that had ever lived in the house. We took this to heart and wanted to make this house a source of pride after so many years sitting in decay.

I know that painting it black was a big (dare I say ballsy) step, not because a black house is terribly unusual but because such a dark color is a very, very big change. Let me tell ya, this house was ignored for a long long time, but you cannot help but see it now, sitting proudly atop the hill, taking its rightful place in the neighborhood.

So many neighbors have come by and thanked the trade teams and I as we worked to finish it up. We love this house, we loved the adventure of filming with the production team and Magnolia Network. I am so proud of every single person that worked on it… we have such an amazing team here in Greenvegas. What a joy it was to bring this beautiful home back to life with them…..
